Robert Scott
ROBERT SCOTT
Canadian Formalist painter Robert Austin Scott was born May 16, 1941 in Melfort, Saskatchewan. He completed his initial studies at the Alberta College of Arts, receiving a diploma in Applied Arts in 1969, and received his Master’s in Visual Arts from the University of Alberta in 1976. Following his graduation, Scott has taught art, notably as a sessional instructor with the University of Alberta’s Department of Art and Design. Over the last couple of years, he has however curtailed his teaching activities in order to devote his time exclusively to painting. He has exhibited extensively throughout Canada and internationally, and has received numerous awards. Scott has attended many workshops internationally. He is also a passionate social advocate; particularly contributing his efforts to upgrading skill sets in the developing world.
