October 5th- October 26th, 2013
Opening: Saturday, October 5th, 2-4pm

New York-based Adam Fuss departs from traditional camerawork in his photomechanical rendering of photograms. Using no lens, Fuss' images are created by placing objects on large sheets of photo-sensitive paper that are briefly exposed to light. What results are colourful abstractions, elusive silhouettes of floating babies and hypnotic rays of vibrating hues. Rife with symbolism and references to mythology and mortality, Fuss' images starkly confront viewers with the unknown, the sublime and the uncanny.

Adam Fuss was born in London in 1961, and has lived and worked in New York City since 1982. His work is included in public and private collections worldwide including Albright-Knox, New York, USA; Denver Art Museum, Denver, Colorado, USA; Israel Museum, Israel; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, California, USA; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA; Museum of Modern Art, New York, USA; Victoria and Albert Museum, London, UK.
